GREEN DESIGN for new generation of promising young designers

Trade fairs have an irreplaceable communication, trade and marketing functions as well as an educational importance. The international fashion and footwear fairs STYL & KABO in February regularly organise a competition for young students of secondary textile and clothing schools and vocational schools called GREEN DESIGN.

This February will be no exception; once again the trade fairs will support the new generation of promising young designers.

A record number of 140 students from 23 Czech and Slovak schools applied to GREEN DESIGN this year. In November 2008 the expert jury selected 8 finalists from all applicants. On 17 – 19 February 2009 the finalists will introduce a collection of 3 models in Hall G2. The theme is going to be: “GREEN DESIGN – MY STYLE”.

• Urgelová Magdaléna, Zrebná Silvia, Secondary School of Art,
collection: GERE-GERE FASHION

Jury:
Iveta Ledererová – painter, jury chairwoman, expert in clothing consultation and etiquette, Darina Viteková – Móda Revue magazine, Alena Sedliská - SLEZAN Frýdek-Místek, Eva Jarošová – authorised expert in clothing and Petr Kalouda – designer.

The results will be announced and the GREEN DESIGN prize to the best designer among the Czech and Slovak students will be awarded on Thursday 19 February 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in Hall G2. Winners of the first three places in GREEN DESIGN will gain media publicity and also a subscription of Móda revue magazine for one year. The will also receive a CANON IXUS 80 IS camera, luxury button sets in the total value of CZK 18,000 from Mr. Bouton and textiles from SLEZAN in the total value of CZK 10,000.
