Fashion designer John Varvatos to headline Global Retailing Conference

Previously announced conference speakers include: Frederic D. Fox, president, CEO and co-founder of Planalytics; Tom Szaky, CEO of Terracycle; Blake Mycoskie, founder of Tom's Shoes; Robert Sinclair and Daniel Hubbell, with Microsoft's Accessibility Business Unit; and Carl Steidtmann, chief economist with Deloitte Research.

"I'm pleased they have accepted our invitation to speak about what they've done to build such powerhouse brands, and look forward to hearing their ideas for strengthening relationships with customers and ensuring long-term success," said Terry J. Lundgren, who heads Macy's Inc., and is a UA alumnus. "I know the information they share will not only shape future retail trends, but also be of interest to everyone who has ties to the industry's ongoing success - including consumers."

The Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing is part of The UA's John and Doris Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences.

It brings together the resources and expertise of academia and the retail industry, with a shared goal of developing strong future retail professionals.

The Lundgren Center, considered one of the top retail business programs in the country, has about 400 students enrolled in classes and degree programs this semester.
