Ashish Soni strives to create a line driven by his inspiration to constantly experiment and create fashion that is crafted with honesty and mastery.
Fall winter 2009 collection draws from the cinematic spirit of the 70's. Movies of the time such as Network, Mahogany, Eyes of Laura Mars and the “Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant”, with their flashes of genius and intoxicating combination of creativity and excess have caught his imagination.
And today he presents a remake of these evocative times in a 2009 version. The menswear was smart and the new black was Bordeaux, which was predominant in his presentation.
Head to toe ensembles were carefully matched and coordinated. Hair was impeccably styled, cheekbones geometrically rouged and eyes dramatically shaded with creamy pastels or shimmering metallics.
Inspired by these images, Ashish visualised for this season, a chic natty woman from late 70s classic elegance.
This season's cuts were classic but twisted, stylish, tasteful and full of fresh ideas that are just sufficiently outlandish.
Dresses were crafted in luxurious fabrics like Satin, Taffeta and Silks in rich shades of Burgundy, Prune, Bordeaux, Moonbeam, Hematite and Onion.
Multi pleated satin dress with satin embroidery detail on waist, fully pleated taffeta yoke dress with cape collar and asymmetric draped dresses bring alive the spirit of the collection. From draped cashmere top onto rolled collar Kimono top with churidar sleeves the silhouettes take a twist on the classic.
Ashish's collection was a convincing definition of modernism.
