Springfield gets outdoor lifestyle brand

Gander Mountain, the nation's largest retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping, marine and outdoor lifestyle apparel announced that it will celebrate the grand opening of its 116th store in Springfield, IL starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, April 3rd with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring local community members.
The grand opening activities, including daily giveaways, celebrity appearances and family-oriented activities, will continue through Sunday, April 5th. The new store is extending their hours of operation for the celebration - Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Gander Mountain will be giving away $10 gift cards to the first 100 shoppers through their doors each day of the event. In addition, the first 250 shoppers each day to make a purchase will receive a special welcoming gift from Gander Mountain.
Shoppers may also register to win one of three $500 Gander Mountain gift cards and a trip for two to the 2009 Fall Talladega Superspeedway Race in Alabama on November 1st.
The grand opening will be attended by fishing and hunting experts as well as a variety of well-known local sports personalities. These special guests include: Mike Shannon, the radio voice of the St. Louis Cardinals, Red Schoendienst, former manager of the Cardinals and Major League Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, and John Mabry, a former Cardinals player. The new 57,000 square foot store in Springfield will serve as a community attraction with its innovative outdoor products and services, which will be tailored to fit the needs of Illinois' outdoor enthusiasts. Customers will find that the store has everything they need to enjoy the outdoors. In addition to the fishing, hunting and camping equipment Gander Mountain is known for, the store will carry a broad selection of apparel, footwear, watersports and outdoor fitness products.
The store offers a full range of services including: on-site gunsmiths, an archery lane and full-service archery shop, line winding and a staff of associates with a wealth of knowledge about all the outdoor products carried in the store. The store will also contain a "Gander Mountain Lodge", a meeting room provided free of charge for meetings of local outdoor, business or community groups. During the year, Gander Mountain provides several educational courses for outdoor enthusiasts in the Lodge and offers more hunter safety programs through its Lodges than any other retailer in the United States.
