LOOK to have exclusive rights to import Tory Burch products

Tory Burch LLC, a lifestyle brand which embodies the personal style and spirit of its co-founder and creative director, announces a partnership with LOOK Inc., who has exclusive rights to distribute and retail its products in Japan. As a partner to LOOK Inc., Mitsubishi Corporation has been granted the exclusive rights to import Tory Burch products into Japan. The multi-year agreement will start with the Fall 2009 season.
Since its launch in 2004 as a lifestyle concept with multiple categories, including ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags and jewelry, the Tory Burch brand has received recognition within the industry, including the CFDA Award for Accessories Designer of the Year in 2008.
"Our expansion into Japan is a critical component of our strategy to increase the presence of our brand on a global scale," said Tory Burch. "I have always found Japan to be an incredibly inspiring country both from a cultural and fashion perspective, and believe there is an exciting opportunity in this market for our product. I look forward to developing this new business with such experienced partners."

Distribution of the brand in Japan will launch in April 2009 in Isetan Shinjuku. Following that, LOOK Inc. will open Tory Burch retail boutiques and distribution via select department and specialty stores. The first freestanding retail boutique is planned to open no later than Spring 2010.
