Fitness Footwear, an online retailer based in Woolmer Green, Hertfordshire are proud to offer the widest choice of sports and outdoor shoes on the world wide web, but when it comes to the warm spring and summer months, their website becomes flooded with shoppers looking for the latest styles of the biggest sandal brands.

In 2008, Fit Flop were the biggest selling sandals for Fitness Footwear as the innovative flip flop's rising acclaim married with the retailer's association with sports and outdoor pursuits allowed them to ship record numbers of the flip flop with the gym built in.

Fit Flops are marketed as the summer flip flop that gives you a work out while you walk. Targeted towards women wither neither the time nor money to attend gym classes in order to stay in shape, Fit Flops are designed to work the muscles in the legs and buttocks harder during every day activities, resulting in slimmer legs and a smaller bum. So it's no wonder that nearly every woman world wide wants a pair.

To cater for their loyal customer base of outdoor enthusiasts, which include large numbers of the British walking communities, Fitness Footwear was keen to provide a wide range of suitable walking sandals from many of the biggest walking boot brands. As a one stop shop for walkers to buy the best walking boots on the market, Fitness Footwear was the perfect retailer to promote this new product to a community of traditional trekkers who for the most part were resolute in wearing nothing but the classic styles of brown hiking boots pioneered by Chris Brasher in the 1970s. Since then, Fitness Footwear offers an unsurpassed selection of walking sandals, including a number of water sport sandals to cater for all of their customers.

However, in recent years, Fitness Footwear has expanded into the realms of functional and fashionable footwear by stocking a massive range of best selling Birkenstock sandal styles, the most popular of which is the Birkenstock Arizona, closely followed by the Birkenstock Madrid which is a preferred ladies choice of summer sandal. Meanwhile for casual of smart evening attire, the Birkenstock Gizeh has been a very popular choice. However, the Birkenstock Arizona remains the best selling Birkenstock sandal because of its universal appeal to men and women of all ages.

Following this success in fashionable footwear, Fitness Footwear was keen to expand the ranges of their existing brands by offering all manner of lifestyle shoes while bringing exclusive fashion labels such as EMU boots and Crocs shoes on board. As a result, Crocs were quick to overtake Birkenstock as the biggest selling summer brand.

While Birkenstocks have shown an all-year-round appeal, Crocs shoes are a seasonal brand. Since the unveiling of the first Croc shoe at the November 2002 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show, Crocs shoes have been a massive hit with all manner of men, women and children. Crocs have a broad appeal to a widerange of Fitness Footwear's customers who appreciate the soft, lightweight and comfortable clog style of the shoes as well as their vibrant colours and multi-purpose designs which make them suitable for all aspects of summer from relaxing on the beach to a number of wet outdoor activities. For many children, Crocs are the perfect wet play shoes for summer.
