In the land where biggest and tallest, most expensive and outlandish is the norm, it goes without saying that weddings in the UAE are elaborate and extravagant affairs.

Now, brides in the UAE can add a splash of Hollywood to their big day, matching their sparkling wedding gowns to their bottled water with the launch of Bling H20, the mineral water favoured by A-list celebrities such as Paris Hilton, which comes presented in a Swarovski-encrusted glass bottle.

The Bride Show Dubai is hosting the first public launch of Bling H20, following a private introduction to the UAE at one of the royal weddings earlier this year. Created by Kevin G. Boyd, a Hollywood writer and producer, the water has most recently been served at the Oscars and the Grammys.

One bottle from the new Dubai Series, a limited edition collection of bottles completely adorned in Swarovski crystals, is on display at The Bride Show Dubai and is attracting a lot of interest. While the regular bottles sell for 130dhs for the small size and 250dhs for the large, the Dubai Series start from 12,000dhs and can be custom-made for different events.

The health benefits of drinking 8 glasses of water a day is well-known, and with the introduction of the world's ultra luxury bottled water to the region, it has never been more stylish to sip.

“Drinking water is one of the easiest ways to start a healthier lifestyle,” said Christina Abdo Doublichevitche, dietician and nutritionist for the Health Factory, one of the exhibitors at Women's Healthcare, running alongside The Bride Show Dubai. “For brides-to-be who are trying to get in shape for their big day, we recommend two litres of water a day.”

The Health Factory is at Women's Healthcare promoting their healthy eating catering service, which provides calorie-counted meals on a daily basis to customers who want to lose weight. Each client's menu is devised by a team of trained nutritionists and the results they achieve speak for themselves.

One of the world's most innovative health drinks has also been launched at Women's Healthcare. Thousands of visitors have sampled Bio Vera, the first Organic Aloe Vera enzyme health drink which is organic-certified by the Organic Board in Malaysia as well as halal-certified by the Halal Boards in both Malaysia and Dubai.

“We have been overwhelmed by the response so far,” said Lincoln Behm, Acting General Manager for the World International Trade Corporation (WITCo), which has introduced the product to the UAE. “Women have been incredibly interested in Bio Vera because it helps to improve skin conditions, stimulate digestion, detoxify the body and increase production of red blood cells.”

The final day of The Bride Show Dubai – Saturday 11 April – is sure to be filled with sparkle and shine as the winners of the CRYSTALLIZED Young Designer Awards are announced and a 1 million dirham wedding dress is unveiled by DesignerAhmed Al Reyaysa for Dar Sara fashion house.

The Bride Show Dubai takes place from 8-11 April 2009 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. An entry fee of 10dhs is applicable. Children under 14 are not permitted but the Peekaboo Children's Crèche is available.
