Coolibar to equip five classrooms with Sun Protective Hats

This May during Melanoma Month Coolibar will announce the winners of their 2009 School Sun Hat Contest. Five winners will be chosen at random to win up to 50 hats for their classroom. The contest promotes the SunAWARE acronym to teach simple steps to prevent and detect skin cancers.

"Preventative sun safety habits begin in childhood and the classroom is a great place to reinforce those behaviors. We wanted to make our children's school hats available to classrooms that may not have the resources. The contest was a perfect solution," said Coolibar President and CEO John Barrow.

The contest is open to students, parents, teachers and supporters. "What a great program for kids and schools! Sun protection is so important here in Texas. I forwarded to my kids' school so they could forward to the parents. I also sent it to everyone I know with kids," said a father from Texas.

Contest entries will be accepted until May 1, 2009. The winners will be announced on May 14th. To enter, download and return completed School Sun Hat Contest Entry Form.

Coolibar: Head of the Class
Children's sun protection hats are an excellent way to protect vulnerable young skin, from ears to chin.
