The Kentucky Horse Park Foundation, together with the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, announced the launch of a unique fundraiser to benefit the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.

An official Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games Tie by vineyard vines, commissioned by Louisville retailer Parallel 38, will launch during the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, the largest annual equine event held at the Kentucky Horse Park, from April 23-26, 2009.

In addition, the tie will be available for purchase at Parallel 38's Rolex location and retail store in Louisville.

The custom tie features the repeated design of the exciting horse head from the 2010 Games logo and a horseshoe. Available in red, royal blue, pink and green, the tie will sell for $95 with $10 from the sale of each tie benefiting the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.

"We are very pleased to partner with the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation on the vineyard vines tie project," said Terry Johnson, vice president of sales for the World Games 2010 Foundation. "As the entire Commonwealth prepares for the Games, we have a great opportunity to support the Horse Park and the incredible programs it provides."

"The Kentucky Horse Park is truly a unique treasure in the Bluegrass state" said Terri Cardwell, owner of Parallel 38. "We feel strongly about the great work of the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation to expand and enhance the Horse Park, and are happy to do our part to support their ongoing fundraising efforts." Vvineyard vines is an apparel company specializing in whimsical clothing for men, women and children, founded in 1998 by brothers Shep and Ian Murray, inspired by their love of Martha's Vineyard, MA. "We're thrilled to partner with Parallel 38 and help give back to the Kentucky Horse Park," commented Ian Murray, CEO and Co-founder.

Along with the strong support from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, gifts to the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation from the private sector - both individual and corporate - help the park build and maintain show facilities, conduct special research initiatives, complete landscaping projects and host special art exhibits such as Imperial China and All the Queen's Horses.

The 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are the world championships of eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) and are held every four years. The Games have never before been held outside of Europe; nor have all eight disciplines competed at a single site - both firsts that will be achieved at the Kentucky Horse Park.
