Issey Miyake & Jean Gaultier reveal new summer scents

With warmer days ahead, Jean Paul Gaultier Parfums and Parfums Issey Miyake have revealed their 2009 Limited Edition Summer Fragrances. With designs as different as the two fashion legends themselves, the collections reflect contrasting aesthetics. Issey Miyake, inspired by an urban landscape, adds a summery floral touch to his architecturally informed bottles, while Jean Paul Gaultier sets his trio of scents in a playful, mythical garden paradise.

Guest designer Philippe Galowich interprets Miyake's world through colourful, structured graphics. The bold letters on the transparent bottles reveal the hues of the garden, while the white boxes tell a lyrical architectural story. The seasonal scents, both created by Jacques Cavallier, perfectly and poetically express this new landscape.

In the L'Eau d'Issey Summer Eau de Toilette, rosewater unites with pear to create a frosty shiver with acidic overtones. Peony and carnation underscore the composition's floral brilliance, while osmanthus and precious woods enhance the refreshing trail.

In L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Summer Eau de Toilette, stimulating, icy zests of yuzu and mandarin orange explode against the shadows of cardamom and aromatic sage. This fresh, edgy dynamic is balanced and tempered by notes of moist vetiver and delicate ambergris.

Jean Paul Gaultier - A Gaultier Garden of Eden
The fragrance world's most famous couple, CLASSIQUE and LE MALE revel amid a garden of earthly delights. This year, they are joined by a warm-weather version of his precocious new ingenue, MA DAME. New, lighter formulas make these fragrances perfect for summer.

In the CLASSIQUE 3.3 oz Alcohol-Free Summer Fragrance, rose flirts with orange blossom, clementine and Sicilian lemon. A floral bouquet of Arabian jasmine, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley and white iris blooms in the middle notes. The heady base notes feature an accord of vanilla absolute, fresh musk and amber.

The LE MALE 4.2 oz Stimulating Body Spray is enriched with mint, ginseng and ginger water. Refreshing agents create an icy effect - a cocktail of pure energy.
