Crocs Inc announced the launch of the Prepair Collection, a new technical footwear line designed to help athletes recover following athletic or fitness activity. Athletic recovery has long been recognized as an integral part of training and competition by allowing the body time to repair and strengthen itself. This new line of Crocs products is specifically designed to improve recovery time for recreational and professional athletes alike.
“The Prepair Recovery Collection is a natural progression for us as we continue to expand our product lines and target active consumers,” said Doug Hayes, Vice President of Crocs North America. “For years, athletes have been wearing Crocs shoes due to their superior function and comfort. The Prepair Collection provides many notable enhancements with benefits that make our shoes the premier choice for any athlete looking for recovery footwear.”
Prepair footwear starts with the inherent comfort and ergonomic benefits of Crocs shoes and adds nano-silver technology with Croslite Ag, a Croslite material formulation with an anti-bacterial and anti-fungal silver additive that helps keep feet healthy.
This innovative material has been examined and tested by numerous specialized footwear testing facilities including US Ergonomics and the Michigan State Biomechanics Lab. The results have shown compelling benefits in comfort, health and recovery, including notable reduction in peak muscular effort and peak pressures which relieve strain on the musculoskeletal system. Specifically, lab tests results show:
• A reduction in peak pressures by 50% as compared to walking barefoot, and up to 19% as compared to competitive brands • A reduction in peak muscular effort, up to 24.6% better than competitive brands while walking • A reduction in peak pressures, up to 23.5% better than competitive brands while walking
Due to these biomechanical benefits, the Prepair Collection has been approved as the official recovery shoe for the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) and Hockey Canada, and has received certification from US Ergonomics.
Moreover, athletes the world over including Matty Reed, 2008 U.S. Olympic Triathlete and 2008 United States Triathlon Association's (USAT) Male Athlete of the Year, have endorsed Crocs recovery footwear. Reed stated, “I wear my Crocs Prepair shoes after races and after training; there is nothing more comfortable. I'm thrilled that Crocs offers a recovery shoe specifically designed for athletes.”
