Kensie signs denim deal with Alpha Garment

Kensie and Alpha Garment Inc announced a licensing agreement to create the “Kensie” denim collection consisting of a core basic denim program and an extensive fashion component for the twenty-something contemporary customer.
The core program will include signature fits with a variety of rises and leg openings with updated washes each month while the fashion element will feature dresses, jackets, pants, shorts and skirts. Premium fashion washes will range from light-medium to dark and will incorporate distressing, rips and tears along with baking effects while cleaner washes will range from medium to dark rinse. Sizes will range from 25-32 and retail price points from $78 to $98, all with the quality and design integrity of jeans at premium price points.
The new Kensie denim collection will preview to the trade in June 2009 and be available in department and specialty retailers in the US and Canada by Fall 2009.
“We are excited about our licensing agreement with Alpha Garment, Inc. as they have a deep expertise in and understanding of the denim sector. This partnership provides us with a unique opportunity for Kensie to make a real splash in the contemporary denim category,” said Eric Karls, President and CEO of Kensie.

Kensie is all about feminine pretty clothes dressing the current mood. It is designed and operated by Vancouver-based founders Eric and Lani Karls, who launched onto the scene with Mac & Jac in 1994, followed by Kensie and Kensiegirl. In 2006 the brands were purchased by Liz Claiborne Inc. All three brands are sold internationally at department and specialty stores.
Alpha Garment Inc, established 1986 by Assad Jebara, is a vertically integrated apparel organization specializing in the design, manufacture, import/export, sale and distribution of denim and related sportswear for branded and private labels.
