Known for its elegant and daring collections, Maria Bonita's pieces have been designed for stylish women since 1975. At that time, Maria Cândida Sarmento and Malba Pimentel were giving the first steps to build a vanguard brand. Today, Maria Bonita's outfits can be found at stores in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, besides many multibrand stores spread all over Brazil and in other countries.

"Japan and France are among the markets selling our pieces", says this brand's designer, Danielle Jensen, a few minutes before Maria Bonita's fashion show during the 2010 Summer edition of Sao Paulo Fashion Week, on June 18th.

The fashion show
Once again, “Brazilian-ness” inspires Maria Bonita's designs. Now, the collection follows the lead of street markets so popular all over the Country. "Free markets, free colors, and free shapes", that's this collection's motto. A highlight goes to the pieces that may be used as accessories, such as purse-blouse, the backpack-dress, the purse-overall, the purse-blazer and the purse-trousers.

Bermudas and T-shirts complement this collection. Rustic fabrics are threaded with cotton, linen and raffia strings. Its modeling varies between adjusted and ample designs. Stripes and plaid designs are delicately printed on the outfits. This brand's palette of colors includes brown, green and navy blue tones.
