Holy Land of Jeans in Japan
Kojima is wel-known for producing high quality coton wol since the mid Edo-era. Due to this strength, Kojima developed a textile cluster and is wel-known to produce uniforms and jeans. That is why Kojima is caled “the Holy Land of Jeans”, such as Big John, the worldwide famous jeans brand, is originaly made in Kojima. Now, Kojima's jeans industry claimed 70% share of the production within Japan.
Maeno & Co. started the business since 1948 in Kojima of Okayama. In the early stage, Maeno & Co. focused on domestic market and spent lots of efforts on developing innovated fabric material, new washing technique and high-quality products production. In particular, Maeno & Co. managed lots of indigo work clothes so their dyeing, washing and sewing technology is well-established. In 1997, Maeno & Co. established “ETERNAL” as a jeans brand to present their expertise in dying, washing and sewing combining with the fine jeans fabrics from Kojima.

ETERNAL is created to integrate all textile techniques that Maeno & Co. has equipped into Kojima jeans. ETERNAL is made by craftsmen who used old style sewing machine, special to be used for military wear and thick fine fabric sewing, which is a difficult technique now. With the advanced dyeing & washing technology, ETERNAL jeans give more real and cubic senses through the advanced washing technology shades and gradient colors. Beside its design is full of Japanese culture and beauty, it is demonstration of the art in fine fabric manufacturing, jeans production and jeans washing technique.
