One of Asia's highest profile fashion celebrities is booked to attend Air New Zealand Fashion Week as part of the organisers drive to raise the profile of New Zealand designers in this crucial market.

Denise Keller, Asia's most admired fashion ambassador and MTV Asia's lead VJ is set to arrive on New Zealand's shores for the collections. With a reputation as one of Asia's leading celebrities, Keller is renowned for roles as diverse as TV presenter, supermodel, entrepreneur and philanthropist.

Managing Director of Air New Zealand Fashion Week Pieter Stewart recognises the importance of links to Asia as a key export region for New Zealand to focus on. “We've seen many of our country's leading designers exporting to Asia in recent years. Having one of Asia's most famous faces wear New Zealand labels is worth volumes in terms of endorsement of our fashion industry.”

Keller is a proven ambassador and dedicated spokesperson for fashion in the Asia region and is an avid follower of New Zealand fashion.

“I am already a big fan of New Zealand fashion brands such as Karen Walker and Zambesi, and have worn Cybele and NOM*d many times onscreen on MTV Asia, so I already feel a part of the New Zealand Fashion food chain,” says Keller.

The German-Chinese-Singaporean TV star has many impressive accolades under her belt, having hosted numerous TV series, awards shows and special events including Discovery Channel's “Passage to Malaysia”, Mercedes Benz Asian Fashion Awards, E! Entertainment USA and MTV Asia's Music Video Awards.

Now only weeks away from Air New Zealand Fashion Week Keller is looking forward to her trip to New Zealand.

"I am beyond excited to be heading down to Auckland for New Zealand Fashion Week. As an ambassador and a lover of fashion in general, what I am truly interested in is seeing new emerging brands, and watching how they begin their path into the business. I expect to see creativity and great workmanship, with intelligent answers to the current economic climate. For me, I expect this week to be a highlight of the fashion season. My hopes are high. Now, don't disappoint me New Zealand,"
says Keller.

Her interest in fashion has grown out of a stellar modelling career, which has seen Keller grace the covers of fashion and lifestyle bibles around the globe, including Vogue, Elle, Style, Harper's Bazaar, Cleo, FHM and Women's Weekly. She has also starred in numerous campaigns for brands such as Shiseido, Sportsgirl, Samsung, Max Factor, Nokia and Toshiba.

Keller has recently become an Advisory Council Member for Al Gore's The Climate Project, and also champions causes such as AIDS awareness, Breast Cancer and the Down Syndrome Foundation around her hectic fashion and TV schedule.
