PFW launched festivities with high profile entities

Portland Fashion Week: Spring/Summer 2010 Collections, launched festivities with two of the highest profile entities in private and public sectors in Portland, celebrating two iconic events, which have set the stage for the most exciting and highest profile Portland Fashion Week ever.
An installation fashion & trunk show with PFW Designers took place last Wednesday as part of 5-Star Hotel The Nines' 9/9/09 Special Event which was attended by civic leaders, including Mayor Sam Adams and executives from the Portland Development Commission, Travel Portland, Portland Business Alliance, and Portland celebrities and businesspeople like Sharon Kitzhaber, Vivian McInerny and Byron Beck. On September 12,Portland Fashion Week designers adorned the fashion stage of the Tri-Met's Green Means Go event in downtown, celebrating the opening of MAX's new line as part of our City's nationally know public transportation system. The event was collaborated on by the Downtown Marketing Initiative, and was attended by Federal Transit Agency Administrator Peter Rogoff.
"Don't let these high-profile warm-up events you distract you from what's most important, the launching of some of the most fascinating collections ever done in our dynamic city at the oncoming fashion week " says Prasenjit Tito Chowdhury,Executive Producer of Portland Fashion Week. "Overcoming the odds in this severe economic downturn, Portland Fashion Week is showing the strongest lineup of designers in its seven year long history - among the nine established and emerging Portland designers this year, two of the nationally known Portland designers will not only be debuting new collections, but launching brand-new product lines from the PFW runway, La Vie by Michelle DeCourcy and Imperial Collection by Anna Cohen, a Department of Agriculture funded all-sustainable line."
