'We are happy to witness a revival in demand' – Brandhouse

Brandhouse Retails Limited (BHRL), one of the leading fashion retailers in India, announced its results for the second quarter and half year ended 30 September 2009.

In Q2 FY2010, BHRL's revenues grew 12.5% to Rs 188.82 crores on account of enhanced volumes through opening of new stores across its brands. EBIDTA during the quarter stood at Rs 16.34 crores compared to Rs 14.36 crores, an increase of 13.8%. BHRL has been successful in enhancing its EBIDTA margins to 8.7% from 8.6% in the quarter under review. PBT increased by 15.14% to Rs 12.70 crores from Rs 11.03 crores. Net profit for the period grew 21.62% to Rs 8.55 crores from Rs 7.03 crores in Q2 FY2009 indicating a strong performance in a somewhat uncertain environment.

Financial performance update:
Q2 FY2010 results compared with Q2 FY2009 results:
- Net income from operations at Rs 188.82 crores versus Rs 167.82 crores, up 12.5%.
- EBIDTA grows 13.78% to Rs 16.34 crores from Rs 14.36 crores.
-- Net profits increase by 21.62% to Rs 8.55 crores from Rs 7.03 crores.

H1 FY2010 results compared with H1 FY2009 results:
- Net income from operations grows 21.64% to Rs 313.88 crores versus Rs 258.04 crores.
- EBIDTA up 36.75% to Rs 26.79 crores from Rs 19.59 crores.
- Net profits at Rs 12.23 crores from Rs 7.48 crores, indicating 63.5% increase.

Commenting on the Q2 FY2010 results, Mr. Tarun Joshi, Managing Director, BHRL said, “It gives me great pleasure to announce a healthy result in Q2 FY2010. This encouraging performance has been driven by our strong branded presence in various socio economic segments of the domestic retail space. We are happy to witness a revival in demand and consumer confidence especially now that the festive season is on.Given the improvement in business environment, a strong branded presence and a unique retail centric model we believe we are well placed to continue this growth trajectory.”
