The faculty members of Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF), India's leading fashion and design institute had organized the preview of an exhibition of their art works, 'Samanvaya', at All India Fine Art and Craft Society, 1 Rafi Marg, Connaught Place, New Delhi it was open from 16th to the 21st of November, 2009 between 1 pm – 7 pm.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. K.S Radhakrishnan, eminent artist and other well known personalities from art fraternity like, Mr K.R Subbanna, Vice Chairman, Lalit Kala Akademi, Mr. Anondomoy Banerjee, Vice Principal, South Delhi Polytechnic for Women, Mr. Dattatray Apte, Manager Design, ITPO, Mr Sushanto Guha, Eminent Artist, also came together to appreciate the works of the talented faculty members.
Samanvaya is an expression of the enthusiasm of the faculty's creative instincts. A contemporary art exhibition, it features a unique group of artists from varying schools of aesthetics and artistic sensibilities. Participating artists (faculty members) like Ambika Magotra, Deepak Khandelwal, Manas Barua, Manikanta Choudhury, N. Roshan Singh, Prasanna Baruah, Ramneek Kaur Majithia, Sasi Kumar, Sarita Karandikar, Sonali Soni Pal, Usha Nehru Patel and Kunal Sinha have used drawing, painting, prints and sculptures to portray their artistic thoughts and expressions.
Dr. A. K.G Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion commented, “Samanvaya' is a great interactive platform for the faculty members and the art community. The faculty members have exhibited their creativity through different mediums. This is our way of applauding their efforts and also helps in shaping up of a creative environment for the students at our academy.”
The growing acclaim & popularity of Indian art in recent years has created a lot of avid connoisseurs in the art world. Samanvaya provides a perfect platform to the fine arts faculty members of Pearl Academy of Fashion to expand and showcase their skills to the art & design fraternity.
