Giftrends Madrid, the leading showcase for new features within the consumer goods and home furnishings industry, staged its fifty-seventh edition between 10th and 14th September at the halls of FERIA DE MADRID.

This trade event encompassed the simultaneous staging of INTERGIFT, IBERJOYA and BISUTEX and featured the participation of some 1,461 exhibiting companies, as well as welcoming a total of 48,992 trade visitors.

Organised by IFEMA, Giftrends Madrid presented a comprehensive showcase aimed at catering for the forthcoming Christmas and New Year marketing campaigns. More than 82,000 square metres of exhibition space were set aside in order to present the latest ideas in gifts, decoration products, jewellery, fashion jewellery and accessories. This showcase once again testified to the organisers' efforts to boost business activity within the industry, based on some carefully-designed displays and a selection of products characterised by high levels of quality, fashion and innovation.

In this respect, INTERGIFT, IBERJOYA and BISUTEX offered professionals an ideal working setting in which to consolidate their business activities and make contact with members of the industry, whilst also providing a key information forum and easy access to an overview of the latest international trends on the market. With regard to the breakdown of results according to fair, we might highlight the fact that INTERGIFT enjoyed the direct participation of 750 exhibiting companies and presented an exhibition area measuring 61,000 square metres throughout seven different halls. For its part, BISUTEX staged its largest edition to date, based on the participation of 361 companies and an exhibition area measuring 9,665 square metres in Hall 7. The two fairs together, which share an increasing number of distribution channels, welcomed a total of 35,198 professionals. IBERJOYA featured the participation of some 350 companies and attracted some 13,794 professionals.

With regard to the presence of buyers from the Spanish market at the three events, we should highlight the attendance of visitors from the Madrid Region, followed by professionals from Andalusia, Catalonia, the Valencian Region, Castile-Leon and Castile-La Mancha. Another outstanding aspect of the fair was the strong attendance of professionals from other parts of Spain, regions that are somewhat further away from Madrid. Thus, the Canary Islands sent more than one thousand professionals to the event in the middle of the Iberian Peninsula.

International Attendance
Under the heading of international attendance, Giftrends Madrid featured the direct participation of 270 companies from 30 different countries: 110 companies at INTERGIFT, 47 companies at BISUTEX and 113 companies at IBERJOYA. Giftrends Madrid welcomed a total of 3,233 professionals from all around the world, including large numbers of buyers from Europe, especially from Portugal, Italy, France and Germany. The event also attracted buyers from Asia, mainly from India and China. In the case of BISUTEX, this event also witnessed a strong contingent of professionals from Brazil.
