Anything but normal – this is what the forthcoming bluezone of munichfabricstart - pre collections will be. From 2 – 4 February 2010 the German denim trade fair in Munich will be the meeting point for the international denim and sportswear scene and, as such, an integral part of the German textile fair munichfabricstart – pre collection. In Hall 5 of the M,O,C, upstream suppliers of the denim and sportswear scene showcase the latest collections for Summer 2011.
For three days ready-to-wear manufacturers will be able to visit 58 denim weaving mills, washing plants and finishers as well as additionals specialists to fathom current trends and immediate and post-fair business opportunities, seek inspiration, chill out and party at the munichfabricnight. The bluezone shows that the denim market is undergoing reorganisation, too, and collections are looking to sharpen their profile in order to virtually head “back to the roots”. One of the principal themes and hallmarks of the denim elite and its suppliers is that creativity must be paired with substance, i.e. good fabric quality.
Destroyed effects, new vintage looks, distinct cross-dyeing, hybrid denims, uncompromising bleaching and washing down, sanding, lasering and crinkling are just some of the buzzwords denoting the current denim culture. These highly “tuned”, technically refined washing and dyeing processes have also now impacted other fabrics and introduced a new generation of flat wovens to the market. Technical talks delivered by the fashion and fabric experts of wgsn.com as well as the central Trendarea of the bluezone illustrate and explain in detail the latest developments.
What's going on? - 58 exhibitors are represented on site including such household names as Orta Anadolu (TR), Royo (E), Hellenic Fabrics (GR), Europa (I), Bossa Denim & Sports (TR), Italdenim (I) and Martelli (I).
- Seven first-time exhibitors: Berto E. G. Industria Tessile (I), CCH Creative (D), Coats (D), Denim Valley (E), Remar Textile(TR), Soma Textile & Industries (IND) and YKK Metal (TR), specialist for jeans accessories.
- The trend theme for the 2010 S/S season: Beach Boys
The corresponding atmosphere: the retro-surfer culture of the 60s and 80s is revisited. Looks and fabrics will be topical that are representative of the ultimate summer feeling and casual ease. Wave junkies meet with yesteryear's hippies. Cheerful and fresh patterns go hand in hand with faded and washed-down materials, with a vintage feel and high-tech details. Sand tones and fruity pastel shades such as faded hibiscus and mango convey that youthful lightheartedness. This is accompanied by a fitting chill-out setting: deckchairs, sand, surf sails in the trend colours, surf boards and rigs as display fixtures for fabrics and accessories. - Music at its best: DJ Kaos from Berlinon the decks
