On tonight's opening of Oslo fashion Week was the city's fashion industry, the city's mayor, celebrities, buyers, artists, sponsors, bloggers, actors, photographers, journalists and other fashion lovers who were served by a mix of musical performances, NICE Fashion, Norway's best designers, and awards.

GRAND OPENING
Our recent Grand Prix winner started the evening by performing a vinnerlåt. No doubt that the voice of Didrik Solli-Tangen has the potential to seduce the rest of the world.

NORDIC FASHION GOES NICE
With textiles made of milk fiber, hemp, organic wool, among other things, crab shell, sugar, seaweed, and waste, has form the "new gen" of fashion style. Designers from each of the five Nordic countries made sure to put under the spot light once and for all the need for fashion with a sustainable profile. The display is the result of a design competition organized by NICE (Nordic Initiative Clean & Ethical), and was first presented during the Fashion Summit in Copenhagen in December 2009.

DESIGNER COLLECTIVE
An great group of enterprising Norwegian designers started last year “Designer collectively” at Aker Brygge in Oslo; a joint sale, studio and showroom. At this year's OFW opening, we were able to see a selection of their fabulous creations in an eclectic mix. Shop till you drop in their premises in Verkstedhallen, 3 floor.

SEASON DEBUTANT
Veronica B. Vallenes' collection finds a balance between being a raw, cool, edgy, feminine and elegant. The extravagance and simplicity go hand in hand, in addition to focising on the silhouette. Vallenes have experienced a lot of attention from the Danish fashion markets and also from other foreign media over the past year; and is currently on track to establish their brand.

Nåløyet
The magazine HENNE's awards was as usual a great highlight during the night; and this year's expectations were very high. More established designers were nominated, and one of them - Fam Irvoll also received a scholarship from Innovation Norway, among other things, to have the ability to stand out in the crowd and to be original. The winners of Nåløyet 2010 was designer-duo Mardou & Dean who, among other things won because of its potential to make it big in the international market. Congratulations!

PUBTALK
After the last runway show the stage was set for an informal chat with the evening's participants. The winners of Nøløyet were interviewed and the evening interviewer was Per Sundnes, who also hosted the opening show with actress Agnes Kittelsen.

Lise Karlsnes
All our guests had a surprise appearance with two beautiful songs performed by trendsetters Lise Karlsnes. She was also the model for Nåløyet view wearing a white creation from Vatle earlier in opening the show.
