Musical play of Paris inspires Krishna for Summer/Resort

From a spiritual fashionable trip inspired by the “Kumbh Mela” last season, Krishna Mehta made a dramatic detour to Paris for her inspiration at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2010 collection. It was the musical play “Irma La Douce”, the loveable “good time girl” of Paris, that set Krishna thinking about her women's wear line in a riot of prints, embellishments, fabrics and a myriad different silhouettes, which came together for a sharply cut collection.
It was a look that traversed from the late 1930s to the 1970s for crisply styled jackets, flowing tunic shirts and detailed trousers which gave mix and match options to the wearer. Colours moved from sultry dark tones like steel gray and brown to striking yellow, red, blue, green with touches of plum and purple and of course black and white. The fabric story moved from natural weaves like voiles and cottons to fluid silks, jerseys and velveteen with dashes of abstract prints.
Great prêt summer buys will be the bias draped jersey tops with glittering placement embroidery and sexy shorts, billowing blouses with minute pleats or pin tucks, woven/pleated bubble minis, cross over cowl front sheaths, lots of simple printed minis and sack dresses with stylish matching scarves at the neck, some formal crossover dresses in different hues, smocks with embellished dazzling necklines and the long one shoulder black and printed gowns for evening glamour.
The show stopper was in tune with the theme inspired by the Parisian beauty as the very dramatic Rohit Varma of Bigg Boss season 3 fame, glided elegantly and posed on the ramp in a sultry red printed georgette gown with a flowing scarf.
