Los Angeles based non-profit, the Green Youth Movement (GYM) has found the perfect fit, summoning fashionistas and greenies across the globe to THE GREEN INITIATIVE: A Humanitarian Fashion Show on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood, California, at 1 p.m. Paired with Los Angeles Fashion Weekend, the carbon-neutral catwalk will showcase exclusive collections from eco-friendly designers to extend awareness on how to live sustainably.

Run by green teen Ally Maize, the Green Youth Movement plans to make eco-conscious living more accessible by inviting America's youth to an event that proves living green can match any outfit. Models will be adorning the environmentally conscious designs of Emily Factor, Lizzie Parker, and Lindee Daniel. Each garment has been produced in the United States, using only the most sustainable materials and made with the environment and people in mind.

Fashion is such a big part of youth culture and serves as an ideal means of raising global awareness of sustainable living,” says Maize. “We hope THE GREEN INITIATIVE gets people excited about being green and making environmentally conscious lifestyle choices.”

Proceeds from THE GREEN INITIATIVE will go to the Green Youth Movement's conservation projects, including The GYM Garden in Every School Project. The Green Youth Movement also plans to expand on their conservation efforts by donating a percentage of the fashion show proceeds to CarbonFund.org's Genesis Forest Project and The Million Trees LA Project.
