I/O Bio Merino announces the signing of Alan Ortiz as Design Director. Ortiz made his mark launching Fate Clothing, the pioneer freeride-clothing line that revolutionized today's outdoor style. Ortiz will be pushing the creative edge of merino clothing with using advanced fabric capabilities and the I/O Bio brand's emphasis on style.

“The potential for I/O Bio is huge,” comments Alan Ortiz from the Boulder based I/O Bio Design Lab. “Merino clothing offers incredible functionality in everyday life. I am excited to offer products that are naturally disruptive and culturally significant.”

Ortiz has had an immediate impact on the brand with his debut design of I/O Bio's new Outdoor Retailer tradeshow booth in January. Both designers and buyers from all circles stopped to admire the fun yet brash style.

“It's very exciting to see what Alan is bringing to the brand. I/O Bio customers already expect us to push the envelope and Alan is keeping us saying “wow” as his new designs come in. His style and I/O's fabrics will make a successful match,” states Greg McRoberts, I/O Bio Merino, King Cheese.

I/O Bio Merino combines a street-inspired style with unmatched merino technology, which showcases parent company Michell Pty Ltd's innovative merino manufacturing and yarn technology. This advanced production expertise and patented technologies result in the softest merino garments available.
