MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL – successful event

The twenty-fifth edition of MODACALZADO + IBERPIEL, the International Footwear and Leather Goods Fair, an event organised by IFEMA, took place between 11th and 13th March at Feria de Madrid, achieving some satisfactory results and attracting a total of 9,934 trade visitors, which represents a 10% increase compared to March 2009. These figures confirm and consolidate the fair's role as an indispensable meeting forum for the industry in Spain and one of the three leading events of its kind on the international circuit.

At this edition, MODACALZADO + IBERPIEL once again presented a grand monographic showcase of trends, innovative developments and designs from the leading Spanish and foreign footwear and leather goods brands, based on the participation of some 314 exhibiting companies and a 2% increase in exhibition space compared to March 2009. Some 702 brands were represented at the fair. In total, 90% of the leading footwear companies on the market were present at this edition, which, as a new feature, also included products and services from the fur fashion sector.

The twenty-fifth edition of this fair, which is organised in collaboration with FICE, the Footwear Industries Federation, and IBERPIEL, fulfilled the trading expectations of the majority of the participating exhibitors, in spite of the current economic climate.
