The Bride Show Dubai will be officially opened Wednesday 7 April at 2:30 pm with more than 300 local and international exhibitors providing a one stop shop for brides planning their wedding and girls who love fashion, beauty and jewellery.

Vikram Phadnis, one of Bollywood's hottest new designers, is taking part in the event for the first time and will kick-start four days of fashion shows with his debut Bride Show collection at 5pm on Wednesday 7 April. Thirteen more fashion shows of haute couture evening wear, exquisite bridal gowns, abayas and jelibayas will take place until Saturday 10 April in Halls 1, 2 and 3 of the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

Vikram Phadnis is one of a number of fashion designers who will be on the exhibition floor offering visitors to The Bride Show Dubai personal styling consultations. Reem and Hind Belfajla, from local favourites Das Collection, will be meeting clients and showcasing their latest collection of abayas, a casual line embellished with lots of bright, light spring and summer colours.

New this year is The Bridal Lounge which will feature experts from the region's hair and beauty industry, including senior make up artists from MAC Cosmetics and l'Oréal Professionnel stylists to offer advice, tips and ideas to brides-to-be in an interactive, fun and comfortable setting.

Visitors to the show this year are in for an especially sweet treat; the culinary masters from the Shangri-la Hotel in Dubai have created a 16ft wedding cake – the largest ever to be seen in Dubai as the focal point in the Hotel Zone, where brides-to-be can meet a number of hoteliers to discuss hosting their wedding as well as potential honeymoon destinations.

Those who need a little guidance and advice when it comes to looking and feeling their best for their wedding day have a one stop shop for getting ready for their wedding. Running alongside The Bride Show Dubai is Women's World Live which will feature a number of health and wellbeing services such as laser treatments, facials, fitness classes and alternative medicine.

Visitors to Women's World Live may think they have walked into a South American gym as experts in Dubai show them how to keep fit through salsa classes, Latino cardio, Zumba, a fusion of hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves, and Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian art form combining martial arts, music and dance.

And anyone who visits the show in their gym kit, ready to raise their heart beats and get active, will gain free entry to both Women's World Live and The Bride Show Dubai.

Not only can health-conscious women in the UAE channel their inner Jennifer Lopez Latino spirit, but they can also feel a natural and physical high on Kangoo Jumps, an innovative and fun way to work the leg muscles to maximum effect. Performing fitness routines in the specially customised boots, low impact rebound sport shoes, challenge a person's balance and make any activity much more physically rewarding.
