David Bergum & Associates purchases Zümfoot Footwear

At a time when many businesses are cutting back or shutting down lines, David Bergum & Associates announces the purchase of the Zümfoot footwear brand. Zümfoot is known for its stylish and comfort-oriented interpretations of classic sandals, shoes and clogs. DBA will relaunch the brand through select independent and online retailers.
Michael Mooney and Hamilton Brock, prominent retailers in the Southeast, launched the first line in Spring 2008 through a licensing agreement with Rocky Brands, Inc.
Hamilton Brock began looking for a buyer for Zümfoot after Mr. Mooney passed away unexpectedly. “The principals of David Bergum & Associates are very familiar with the footwear business after working with many brands such as Birkenstock, Tatami, Footprints, and Reebok. I feel strongly that they are the right people to carry Zümfoot forward. Michael would be proud to see them continue what we started,” says Hamilton.
“Our goal is to continue to build upon the strong base that was built by Mr. Mooney and Rocky Brands. We see the Zümfoot brand as being timeless in design, while also possessing comfort features that will ensure that our customers will want to purchase multiple pairs for different occasions,” states David Bergum, President/CEO of David Bergum & Associates.
Donita Dennis, EVP Marketing at David Bergum & Associates adds, “There are currently no comfort footwear brands that offer the value and total package of Zümfoot. Simply put, we offer more features, more comfort, and higher quality at a better price. Our goal is for Zümfoot footwear to be a staple for anyone who places importance on comfort and foot health in a fashionable package.”
Ms. Dennis adds, “We've received a lot of feedback from consumers and retailers which we'll incorporate in to our future development. While you're never going to find us in cutting-edge boutiques, we've got several styles that are definitely considered fashion forward versus our comfort competitors.”
Zümfoot footwear features exchangeable footbeds providing two different levels of support as well as two widths. Its current retail price points start at $125. They offer sandals, clogs, shoes, and boots.
