African Fashion Awards promoting ethnic fashion

The AFA are proud to announce the exclusive African Fashion Awards, a brand new London event on Saturday 16th October 2010.

This is a unique and glamorous celebration recognising and rewarding the incredible talent of fashion designers from Africa and the African Diaspora for their contributions and excellence to the fashion industry.

The ceremony will raise consumer awareness about African Fashion and will also boast many luminaries from fashion and media, celebrities from the entertainment, sports and diplomatic and business industries based in the UK, Europe and abroad including the African continent, Caribbean and America.

A star-studded line up is planned, with designers such as MOMO, Xuly Bet and Kofi Ansah expected to be on the VIP guest list. This event will be held at the Porchester Hall, Porchester Road, Bayswater, London W2 5HS and aims to attract more than 600 guests and visitors to show African Fashion can be both stylish and sustainable.

Designers will showcase their exclusive collections with glamorous catwalk shows and you will be able to view their creativity and greatness close up, with something for every fashion lovers taste and budget. To add to the excitement and glamour various fashion awards will be presented from 'Lifetime Achievements Awards' to 'Young African Designer of the Year'.
