New Zealand Fashion Week is ready for business

New Zealand's top designers and models grace the catwalk at the tenth year of New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW), the list of sponsorship partners continues to grow. Bucking recent economic trends, which have seen the domestic economy continue to stumble, NZFW can boast a list of its most premium sponsorship partners ever, all ready for a huge week showcasing the best of New Zealand fashion industry to the world.

The latest sponsor to join the ever growing NZFW team is Affinage, one of the world's fastest growing haircare companies, which becomes naming rights sponsor and official hair stylist for one of the highlights of the week, the ten year Retrospective Show. This show will look back at the catwalk highlights from the past decade, showcasing the best local talent that has grown alongside New Zealand's biggest fashion event.

New Zealand Fashion Week Sponsorship Director, Myken Stewart is excited by the ever growing list of top companies signing on as sponsorship partners for 2010. “The New Zealand Fashion industry, like all others, was hit hard in recent years, and in our tenth year the NZFW sponsorship team was faced with early challenges that have made the huge job of staging the week long fashion event even harder. However, through hard work and the recognition by the wider business community of what an association with NZFW can offer supporting brands, we are proud of the amazing list of premium brands on board as sponsorship partners and part of the 2010 team,” said Stewart Key partners to join the list of sponsors in 2010 include, Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) which is showing its support for the fashion industry's emerging talent, sponsoring the PWC New Generation Show.

This sponsorship also includes ongoing business support and a recent one day boot camp, preparing the young fashion talents showing at the PWC New Generation Show for the rigors of the competitive fashion business.

Global computer, technology and IT consulting corporation IBM also joins the NZFW team in 2010, supporting the IBM Designer Selection Shows which will showcase a selection of the best of 2010 fashion throughout NZFW and New Zealand Fashion Weekend. In the week following NZFW, these Designer Selection shows will then be taken on tour around the country by new partner JR Duty Free, supporting New Zealand designers by engaging the public through a series of fashion shows in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch airports.

Absolut Vodka, DB Breweries, Sanpellegrino and VISA have also all joined the NZFW team as new supplier partners for 2010.

Absolut will provide refreshment to the hundreds of dignitaries toasting the opening of the tenth NZFW on Monday 21 September, as well as creating the exquisite Absolute Studio, an area featuring New Zealand's leading musical talent, Cocktail classes and an art installation throughout the week. Official beer supplier DB Breweries will be launching anexciting new product, Monteith's Pear Cider, into its range of delicious Monteith's beverages. Visitors to the NZFW village will be able to sample the new product alongside other DB Breweries beers and ciders throughout the week.
