Talenthouse, the leading platform in creative collaboration known for discovering talented artists at every stage of their careers and providing them with unique opportunities, announced that it has launched a worldwide search for aspiring designers to create graphic patterns for Nine West's upcoming spring fashion line.

The search challenges pattern designers, both experienced and unknown, to showcase their unique talent, as well as provides an opportunity for aspiring artists to have the chance to receive worldwide recognition and exposure for their work.

Through Talenthouse, designers with pattern making, textile and/or graphic design experience from around the world, are invited to create and submit original artwork for consideration using the three trends that Nine West has identified for its upcoming spring '11 fashion line: New Military, Living Color, Under the Sea. Participants can create up to three original graphic designs (one per theme).

Three winning artists will be selected from the pool of submissions. The artists will have their artwork produced by Nine West and see it appear on products such as rain boots, flip flops, handbag lining and t-shirts. They will also share a $7500 cash prize. The products featuring the winning artists will be sold at selected retail stores and on www.ninewest.com. The winning pattern designs will also be showcased to over 100,000 fans on Nine West's official Facebook page.

"This program gives Nine West the platform to explore new talent, ideas, and techniques for its brand. We believe that this partnership with Talenthouse offers Nine West a unique opportunity and is consistent with its strategic approach to infuse new concepts inspired by design and art into its fashion line," said Debbie Woloshin, SVP of Marketing at Nine West.

"In addition to being an internationally recognized brand, Nine West has shown a tremendous loyalty to its consumers over the years and has evolved its brand accordingly," said Melina Manasse, VP Artist Relations at Talenthouse. "This collaboration and the incredible opportunity it is offering our design community further proves that Nine West understands the influence that art has on fashion."

The deadline for submissions is October 4, 2010, with voting taking place October 5-11, 2010. The selected artists will be announced November 3, 2010. All submissions will be judged by Nine West representatives.
