The Style of Power – theme of LG Fashion Week Beauty

The Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC) announced that LG Fashion Week Beauty by L'Oréal Paris will present the Spring 2011 collections October 18th to October 23rd, 2010. Held at Heritage Court on the grounds of Exhibition Place in Toronto, the season's theme “The Style of Power” will be reflected in the collections shown on the runway throughout the week.

“We believe the 45,000 sq ft of classical and urban architecture is an incredible venue to showcase Canadian fashion,” says Robin Kay, President of the Fashion Design Council of Canada. “We are pleased to announce we have also secured Heritage Court for the Fall Collections 2011 to be shown next March.”

Presenting sponsor, L'Oréal Paris will infuse its unique flair for style and beauty both on and off the runway for the 17th season. The backstage will be buzzing as the L'Oréal Paris Beauty team collaborates with designers to create stunningmakeup and hair runway looks on more than 500 models throughout the week. In the Fashion Environment, the L'Oréal Paris beauty lounge will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its iconic Elnett Hairspray with makeup and hair touchups for show-goers wanting an added touch of glam.

Three words sum up the inspiration for the ATTITUDE Spring/Summer 2011 - "Feminine Boot Camp". The collection takes a softer approach to utilitarian separates with punches of floral prints to create a quirky, yet feminine mood to the rather traditional subdued palette. Soft silky shorts, drapy blazers and rompers are key this season for easy dressing. Metallic tanks in shades of gold and champagne highlight the collection. Military-inspired platform buckled sandals complete the look.

With more than 240 shops and services including Tiffany & Co., Burberry, Crate & Barrel, Apple, Holt Renfrew and Hugo Boss, and Victoria Secret, Yorkdale Shopping Centre is Canada's premier fashion destination.
