Inditex's fifth 'for&from' fashion store in Elche

Price tags: A special price tag design scheme was developed for the Elche store (squares and cool colours for men's items, circles and warm colours for feminine merchandise and triangles for children's sizes), making the staff's work easier. Price tags on store merchandise are also in Braille.

In designing the store, the architecture and interior design teams paid particular attention to achieving compliance with strict requirements for eco-efficiency, energy savings and respect for the environment, to ensure that the store would also be a benchmark in these areas. The design team adopted technical recommendations for compliance with EN16001/2010 energy standards.

The establishment is equipped with a device that permits remote regulation of its heating and cooling systems. The device adjusts these systems to both outside temperatures and interior temperature changes caused by customer traffic, to prevent temperature fluctuations and help to lower energy use. When sourcing the materials used to outfit the store, particularly wood, the company sought products certified as deriving from sustainably-managed forests.

A space for dialogue: social and environmental awareness room Tempe took advantage of the available space in the building housing the Elche Industrial Park store to develop a room devoted to raising customer awareness of social and environmental issues. The room is intended to raise public awareness of the difficulties and limitations faced by special needs groups and of the importance of safeguarding the environment.

Tempe will implement cooperation projects with several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) which allow their clients to become directly involved in social initiatives, in line with the philosophy driving the store's creation. The public awareness room's opening hours will match those of the store.

“For&from”: an innovative and proven project
The Elche store is the fifth in the "for&from” project, an initiative launched in 2002 when the first “for&from” location, a Massimo Dutti, opened in Palafolls (Barcelona):

2010, Tempe, Allariz (Ourense): In July 2010, Tempe's outlet store in Allariz (Ourense) began welcoming shoppers. The establishment's workforce is made up of five people, each with a physical or mental disability. In accordance with the precedent set by other stores, the Allariz location's customised architecture and fittings make “for&from” shops a benchmark in the retail business in terms of accessibility and the elimination of barriers. COGAMI, thanks to its experience with the Massimo Dutti store, was the chosen partner for this opening.

2010, Tempe, Elche (Alicante): Tempe opened a "for&from" store in its headquarters city. The workforce is composed of eight people, each with a physical or mental disability, pursuant to an agreement between Tempe and APSA. The store offers accessibility and eco-efficiency features, along with a space within the facility dedicated to raising customer awareness of social and solidarity issues.
