Pull & Bear opens new Inditex's eco-efficient store in Madrid

Pull & Bear has launched in Madrid, Gran Vía street, its flagship store in the city, in terms of both its prominent location, and the eco-efficient efforts made by the format. With this store, Pull & Bear has the opportunity to become LEED certified, a certification which recognizes the environmental commitment of the company in the design of its points of sale. LEED is a US green building certification system and one of the most demanding in the market.

In the design and building of the store, following the guidelines implemented by the Group in such stores as the Zara store opened in Korai street in Athens, or in Portal de l'Angel in Barcleona, certain environmental issues have been assessed, such as energy saving, an effective use of water, the reduction of CO2 emissions, the improvement in the internal environmental quality, an appropriate administration of resources and the awareness-raising regarding the environmental impact.

The eco-efficient store is one of the most significant projects within the Environmental Strategic Plan of Inditex, and its various formats are taking relevant steps to enforce such principles as eco-friendliness and energy saving for its new stores and for the refurbished ones.

The store consists of a 700-square-meter space distributed over two floors, in which the men's and women's collections are displayed. The Gran Vía shop features the latest updates to Pull & Bear's store image. The façade is in keeping with the aesthetic appeal of the buildings lining the Gran Vía, a major thoroughfare at the epicentre of Madrid's shopping circuit which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary. The retailer's new logo is prominently showcased at the Gran Vía location, which also features many displays and video screens with photos and video of the latest season's collections.

Inside, shoppers are welcomed to a well-lit space in which every detail is meticulously thought out. A major highlight is the shop's flooring, which represents a revival of a nearly-abandoned artisanal technique: terrazzo floors with inlaid brass and decorative elements in clean and minimalist lines. The furnishings and fittings, meanwhile, blend vintage-look industrial elements with more contemporary features. Following this launch, Pull & Bear has 670 establishments in 46 countries.
