Indo-French Rendez-Vous on Fashion & Home Design

Mr. Margot Duclot added that fashion and home trade fairs are true sources of inspiration that boosts creativity. They anticipate consumer desires and emerging fashion trends. India is a very important country and a strategic market place for France. Indian businesses have a significant presence at the Paris Region exhibitions with a high potential of development, especially in the textiles, fashion, accessories and home design. India is already the country n°10 for the number of exhibitors at the Paris Region trade shows.

Mr. Hamid Kamil, In Charge of Business Tourism and European Politics of the Regional Tourism Committee presented the « Welcome Pack », a free kit meant for international visitors and exhibitors coming to the Paris Region Trade Shows.

During the discussion led by Nonita Kalra, Mr. Etienne Cochet, President of Paris Capital de la Creation and Managing Director of SAFI and Maison&Objet mentioned that Maison&Objet is the key reference in the world of home fashion where latest trends, cultures and lifestyle cross paths. Mr. Cochet was pleased to add that the number of visitors to Maison&Objet had increased in September 2010 despite the economic slowdown and confirmed the vivacious influence of Paris Capitale de la Creation within the framework of its partnership with the PREDA.

Ms. Sylvie Pourrat, Manager of Première Classe confirmed the growing number of visitors to Who's Next in the Women's Ready to Wear section and Premiere Classe in the accessories and revealed a selection of Men's Ready to Wear in January 2011. The two exhibitions scout best talents and are international laboratory for fashion and accessories trends.

Mr Jacques Brunel, Première Vision General Director, presented Première Vision, the world's premier fabrics show and Première Vision Pluriel, the banner which gathers twice a year a strong and coherent ensemble of 6 shows. He also developed the strategy of Première Vision international network.

Indian professionals underlined the quality of the services delivered by the Paris Region Trade Shows and the importance of participating in these events as exhibitor or visitor. The impact these exhibitions have on their businesses internationally as well as locally makes them visit these Trade Shows regularly.
