Between 18th and 23rd February, Hall 14.1 at Feria de Madrid will become the best and most representative showcase for current Spanish fashion design, due to the staging of the fifty-third edition of CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK (CMFW), an event organised by IFEMA.

Within this creative setting featuring numerous new trends and a diverse range of styles and ideas, a total of 45 designers will present their collections for Autumn-Winter 2011/2012 on the catwalk. These participants are complemented by forty promising young designers who will present their collections at EL EGO Showroom, an area where they can sell their creations directly to members of the public throughout the entire duration of CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK.

In this respect, CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK will once again provide us with an up-to-date insight into the world of fashion and design by proposing a comprehensive review of the latest developments within the Spanish fashion and creative design universe over a period of six days.

Among the new features at this edition, we might mention the fact that the fashion parades will be inaugurated by a series of established designers, whilst the EL EGO Fashion Show will take place on the last day of the event. Thus, the renowned designer, Jesús del Pozo, will be responsible for inaugurating the programme at this fifty-third edition.

Another new feature will consist of the presentation of solo fashion parades in the case of the designers, Elisa Palomino and Juana Martín, whilst the general programme at CMFW will also incorporate the young designer, Sara Coleman, a former participant at EL EGO.

Furthermore, for the first time, the fashion parades at this edition will be broadcast by means of live streaming from the CIBELES web page. The fair will also create its own blog in order to provide users with a first-hand insight into all and any aspects relating to CIBELES and the world of fashion. Both of these initiatives reflect the fair's commitment to promoting new technologies.

Jesús del Pozo Inaugurates of the Fashion Parade Programme
As has become customary at recent editions, the fashion parades on this occasion will alternate between the CIBELES and LANCIA Catwalks.

The programme at this edition will be opened by the designer, Jesús del Pozo, on Friday 18th February at 12.00 p.m. The programme will conclude on Wednesday 23rd February with the staging of Coolpeople at Cibeles, another of the new features at this edition. Coolpeople at Cibeles will consist of a new, different and relaxed fashion parade, an initiative staged for the very first time in Spain, in which a selection of young fashion enthusiasts will tread the catwalk in the place of models.

All of the participants will have been chosen as finalists in a competition staged through social networking sites over several days prior to the staging of CMFW. The "Best Look" will be selected from amongst these candidates. This initiative will be organised by CMFW, in conjunction with Centromodaonline.com and Globally.
