The 36th Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) in Bella Center, during Feb 3-6, 2011, is drawing to a close, a fair which has seen an increase in buyers from non-Nordic countries. On this occasion, CIFF/CIFFKIDS had 26,484 visitors.

Bella Center's fashion event, Copenhagen International Fashion Fair, has closed down for the 36th time after four days which have seen an increase in buyers from non-Nordic countries and more focus on ensuring a more accessible fair and fashion week.

More visits from non-Nordic countries
The number of visitors from non-Nordic countries has increased by 5 per cent relative to February 2010, with more visitors from Italy in particular. The increase in these visitors reflects the latest increase of 11 per cent in Danish fashion exports.

The children's clothing company MarMar is one of those which has been visited by a large number of international buyers:

“For example, we have had Russian, German and Dutch buyers – and it is these international buyers as well as the fair's professionalism that are decisive for our attendance here at CIFFKIDS,'' says the firm's owner and designer Marlene Holmboe.

SELECTED is another exhibitor which has had a good fair.

“We are positively surprised that our requirements in relation to more new customers have been met,” says Anita Sehested, a seller.

It is the first time that SELECTED has been at CIFF.

A more accessible fashion week
Together with the three other fairs (Gallery, CPH Vision and Terminal-2) and Danish Fashion & Textile, CIFF's focus has been to create an even more accessible fair and fashion week for all the buyers. Therefore there was free admission to CIFF on the Sunday, and a shuttle service between all four fairs (CIFF, Gallery, CPH Vision and Terminal-2) organised in collaboration with the fairs themselves and Danish Fashion & Textile.

In particular, CIFF has also been part of the collaboration between the Formland fair in Herning on Jutland and Copenhagen Fashion Week, with free shuttle buses carrying visitors to and from the two events.
