“Luxury should not be the privilege of a few but an experience for all” believes Ruchika Singh, the designer behind the label RÜCH.

The label emerged when Ruchika realized that a void existed in the fashion market for unique and affordable evening dresses. Consequently, she founded her brand of dresses that are made with luxurious fabrics and are accentuated with hand-made textures and patterns that are in complete harmony with the fabric itself. Patterns, embroidery and details make her collection exquisite and it's hard to believe that all dresses are under $300.

The styles of the dresses are contemporary but classic, further enhancing their timelessness and wearability.

Both a creative and an analytical person, Ruchika stuck everyone by surprise when she announced that she was going to quit her lucrative career as a strategy consultant to follow her passion of starting her own design label in Chicago. She developed her designs and showed them to her friends who were awestruck with the uniqueness of her vision, leading quickly to the launch of her fashion label RÜCH.

Her debut collection for Spring 2011, is made with luxurious fabrics such as crepe de chine, flat chiffon and georgette and exudes delicate femininity. She picked these fabrics for her collection because they can be worn throughout the year, are comfortable to wear, feel great on the skin and drape well on all shapes. All dresses have in-built waistbands and some have pockets to ensure comfort. These dresses are designed to give women a well-rounded experience of comfort and style.

The affordable prices is a result of low margins and her ability to apply her sound knowledge in operations gained through her experience working with a global designer and other multi-national companies. She has built a seamless company that is focused on lean operations.

This Spring, select styles from Ruchika's collection will be available at Cerato boutique and Le Dress in Chicago.
