Target to reinforce CFDA FASHION INCUBATOR mission

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) is pleased to announce Target as lead underwriter of the {CFDA FASHION INCUBATOR} program (CFI).
Target's support will reinforce CFI's mission to help grow and sustain the businesses of the next generation of fashion designers in New York City.
The association between Target and CFDA is the latest in an ongoing series of partnerships dating back to 1998. Over the years, Target has provided significant financial resources for various CFDA scholarship programs. Previous collaborations have included:
CFDA/Target Design Scholarship (1998 – 2006)
For nine years, the CFDA partnered with Target to oversee the Target/CFDA Design Initiative, which provided young designers with paid, post-graduate apprenticeships at Target headquarters in Minneapolis. As part of this partnership with the CFDA, Target made a significant, annual donation to the CFDA's Educational Initiatives.
CFDA/Teen Vogue Scholarship, in partnership with Target (2007 – present)
To recognize Target's annual financial contribution and unwavering dedication to support emerging design talent, each year's top winner is awarded $25,000 and the title “Target Fashion Scholar”.
“We are thrilled that Target has extended their commitment to the professional development of working designers and the CFDA Fashion Incubator, and are proud to be working with them in this new capacity” said Lisa Smilor, Associate Executive Director, CFDA.
“Through innovative partnerships and our commitment to CFDA, Target continues to foster design talent,” said Trish Adams, senior vice president of merchandising, Target. “In our new role as the lead sponsor of the CFDA Fashion Incubator, we will nurture some of today's most talented emerging designers who we believe will become tomorrow's stars.” CFDA Fashion Incubator/Class of 2014.
