Organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export marketing arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry, DEXIGN GLOBAL Philippines is the first of its kind in the Philippines and will feature an arsenal of home and fashion products from all over the world.
While Manila FAME showcases 100 percent Philippine-made, highly-crafted, and innovative design-driven products, DEXIGN GLOBAL Philippines will serve as a platform for international manufacturers to tap the growing global marketplace in Asia.
With the stellar economic performance of the Philippines in 2012 and the remarkable 7.8 percent-growth posted in the first quarter of 2013, the highest in East and Southeast Asia, the country is expected to have an influx of investors in the coming months and attract a sizeable number of exhibitors for DEXIGN GLOBAL Philippines’ maiden show.
“Through DEXIGN GLOBAL Philippines, we intend to expand our exhibitor base and provide an opportunity for international manufacturers and designers to tap into the booming Philippine retail and contract markets. This is also the best time to go international and be able to position our country as the creative and trade hub in Asia.
"With our aggressively expanding retail sector, a liberalized retail landscape fuelled by rising income levels, a vibrant mall culture, and a flourishing economy and tourism industry, the Philippines is ready to become a catalyst for a more robust inter- and intra-regional trade,” said Rosvi C. Gaetos, Executive Director of CITEM.
DEXIGN GLOBAL Philippines aims to optimize the trade buyers’ one-stop sourcing activity in the region by showcasing a broader and more-diversified product mix of artisanal and heritage crafts and contemporary or industrial crafts from the Asian and ASEAN regions and other countries from all over the world.
The wide range of product offerings for the show include furniture, clothing, footwear, jewelry, household items, textiles, leather goods, visual/graphic art, stoneware, kitchen and tableware, linens, glass, mirror and crystals, floor coverings, lamps and lighting, toys, personal care products, candles and spa products, among others.
