 The 12th International Fur and Leather exhibition “LeShow” was held in Moscow, on 27-29 May 2009, at the Exhibition centre
“Expocentr”. 80 companies from 11 countries took part in the exhibition: Australia, Canada, China, Latvia, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and the Ukraine.
“LeShow” – is the only professional exhibition on the territory of RF in the fur and leather industrial sector, the space of which is over 6500 sq.m.
“LeShow” – is the only exhibition arrangement RF in the fur and leather industrial sector which was honored with the Certificate of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry UFI. According to the rules of the Association, statistic exhibition data are analyzed biennially.
The survey results of the “LeShow” exhibition showed that 76% of the visitors are purchasing specialists: representatives of wholesale and distributing companies, large regional chains, retail stores from 98 cities of RF and 20 countries of the world. THEREFORE, ON THE AVERAGE, ONE PARTICIPATING COMPANY ACCOUNTS FOR 22,5 WHOLESALERS. This year the share for the regional specialists from Siberia, Ural, Tatarstan, the Krasnodar territory, Volga region, the Stavropol territory, the Black Earth Belt and Central region and many others, has grown up.
It is necessary to notice that out of 80 participating companies, there were 30 from Turkey and only 17 – from Russia.
This indicates that foreign companies feed back much faster on the economic conditions. In absentia of the Russian manufacturers they presented their collections to the wholesalers, understanding well that Russian market has always been the largest sales market. The report of the survey results is given below.
It is the second year when the Special program for wholesalers functions within the frame of the exhibition. By 90% of the wholesalers’ accounts, it is an effective tool that helps wholesalers to find the product range of their interest, and exhibitors – their buyers.
All three days of the exhibition were busy and productive for both: exhibitors and visitors – the seminar “Image of the company in the conditions of the crisis” arose intense interest of the audience; open for the wholesalers “Buyers’ club” was strongly sought-for business meetings, wholesalers negotiated with the exhibitors.
However, LeShow is not only specialized exhibition, - apart from business component, the every day fashion show of the 2009/10 collections was held on the podium. This year the collection was presented by famous Russian designer Iliya Shiyan and large Turkish company KISMET.
The exhibition sectors covered almost all segments of popular goods of fur and leather industry.
