Max Irons, the new He image for MANGO
June 10, 2009 (Spain)

For the new Autumn/Winter ‘09 season, MANGO’s menswear line, HE Homini Emerito, has an outstanding ambassador, the young British actor Max Irons. At just 23, Irons is making a name for himself in London theatre. He recently made his debut on the stage, a starring role in Wallenstein, a thriller by Friedrich Schiller, while starring in the film Dorian Gray, alongside the British actor Colin Firth.

The son of actor parents, he has inherited the elegance and talent of his father, Jeremy Irons, and his passion for the theatre from his mother, the renowned Irish actress Sinéad Cusack, and from his famous grandfather, Cyril Cusack.

During the photo shoot, which took place in Barcelona last May under the direction of the Italian photographer Francesco Carrozzini, Max revealed his more amusing side, making it an agreeable experience for the entire team. In spite of the fact that he is fully committed to his acting career, this is not the first time he has lent his image to a fashion brand. A few seasons ago, he participated in the Burberry campaign alongside Kate Moss, shot by the photographer Mario Testino.

The new HE collection is a reflection of the latest trends in men’s fashion: a structured silhouette with details (such as breast pockets, epaulettes, pleats, double buttons, coats of arms, elbow patches and Mao necks), which are applied to fabrics such as velvet. To complete the look, certain elements have been borrowed from uniforms, for example utilitarian, military and English school uniforms.

The colour palette contrasts different tones of grey and green with touches of livelier tones such as redcurrant, aubergine or cobalt blue. Also present are natural and marine tones, which combine with touches of red. The HE man enjoys nature, and therefore has a more relaxed air and returns to the most elemental values. The collection features find thick tricot garments in aran, corduroy and double fabrics. Without overlooking the important role played by jeans.

The HE collection, aimed at the young fashion conscious male, is on sale in 117 MANGO stores in 17 countries and there are stores exclusively dedicated to the menswear collection in cities such as Ankara, Annecy, Barcelona, Dubai, Madrid, Santander, Toulouse and Valencia.
