George Davies, the former head of Next and creator of brands like George at Asda and Marks and Spencer’s Per Una, is poised to bring his FG4 label to UK.

Following the brand’s international success, the English designer is planning to open stores in some 100 locations, including market towns and shopping centres, in the coming 12 months, reported the financial website, This is Money.

Currently, the 73-year-old retail guru is hosting exclusive charitable fashion shows and pop-up shops, featuring latest collections from FG4 by George Davies, at local schools.

“I have always been passionate about supporting good causes, schools and the local community, this is essentially what has given rise to this new way of launching the FG4 brand in the UK,” the designer said while talking about the novel fundraising catwalks on his website.

“I started my career in my teens, selling school uniforms directly to schools. With this UK launch of FG4, I am going back to my roots, getting back in touch with his customers by taking this collection on the road,” he adds.

Launched in 2011, FG4 is a design-led fashion brand that offers clothing for women and little girls and boys. (PB)
