According to Messe Frankfurt, overall visitor numbers fell primarily from the turbulent economic and political environment and also visa restrictions.
80 per cent of the visitors came from foreign countries, with those from Australia rising by 20 per cent, while from Northern and Eastern Europe rose between 13 and 20 per cent on average. The number of buyers who came from France also saw a significant rise of 11 per cent over the previous edition.
According to Messe Frankfurt, despite the decrease in visitors, exhibitors who managed to create lines with new articles and innovative products sensed a certain buoyancy in the market. (AR)
