Women’s luxury knitwear line Elan and Castor opened the second day of ongoing Canadian sartorial revelry Toronto fashion Week with its latest Spring 2015 collection.

Designed by the brand’s founder Leah Antoinette, the line, which included pieces like a reversible reclaimed-fur vest and several floral print adorned intricate knit pieces, was inspired from the designer’s grandmother who taught Antoinette how to use a pair of knitting needles.

Target Canada, the Canadian subsidiary of the United States-based discount department store chain Target Corporation, featured a 42-piece line which included ensembles from brands like Mossimo Black, Merona, Mossimo Supply Co., Beaver Canoe for Target, Threshold, Sam and Libby, Circo, Cherokee and TOMS for Target.

Inspired from the signature European fall/winter season looks, the collection included urban street wear pieces for men, women and kids. The range displayed fur trimmed anoraks, bomber and quilted jackets, knit beanies and hooded infinity scarves. The retailer also highlighted its latest home décor creations.

In addition to the aforementioned showcases, the major highlight of the second day of World MasterCard Fashion Week Toronto was a special fashion show replete with looks inspired from the all-time favourite Disney style icon Minnie Mouse. Jointly hosted by Disney Consumer Products and the finalists of Mercedes-Benz Start Up Competition, the parade witnessed around six spring/summer 2015 re-interpretations of the iconic red and white polka dotted fashionista.
