Massive drive against tax defaulters in Kashmir

Four business establishments have been sealed and Rs 12.40 lacs recovered from others in a massive drive against tax defaulters by The Jammu and Kashmir Commercial Taxes Recovery department in Srinagar, an official spokesman said today.


The four business establishments sealed were Asian Syndicate, Gow Kadal, M/s Shoib Enterprises, Gow Kadal, M/s Auto Sanitation, Red Cross road and M/s Bhat Readymade Garments, Budshah Chowk. They were issued notices by the department but did not respond

The department has warned the defaulters to respond to the notices of the department, otherwise face action under Land Revenue Act.

Tax recovery drive is being carried on since last few months. Raids on well known business establishments have been conducted in Srinagar and other districts. Large amount of money has been recovered on the spot as fine from defaulters.
