Austrian hosiery maker Ergee Textilwerke GmbH has offered an upbeat outlook for 2006 as it announced a rise in sales for the current year and a licensing agreement with German jeanswear specialist Mustang.

The German branch of Schrems-based Ergee will produce and distribute men's and women's socks and tights under the Mustang name worldwide from the spring/summer 2006 season.

The deal marks Mustang's foray into a new product category and adds further impetus to Ergee's growth, which it recuperated this year. The company will end the year with sales growth of 3.5 percent to €41.3 million.

Ergee stated it was optimistic about trading in 2006 on the basis of its current pre-order book for the first half, which was 14.6 percent ahead of the year-earlier period.

German entrepreneur Claus Vatter acquired the company, which produces in in Austria und the Czech Republic, and has subsidiaries in Germany and Switzerland as well as sales offices in France, Italy and the Benelux, in 2001.

Vatter announced the company-regained growth due to better product quality, on-time deliveries and good prices.
