Aura Herbal enters retail with organic apparels range

Aura Herbal Textile Limited, which uses certified organic yarns and fabrics in the making of its products, has forayed into the retail space with the launch of its new exclusive showroom in Ahmedabad, in the west Indian State of Gujarat.
The company has also unveiled its 'Aura Herbal' range of organic apparels and accessories.
Aura Herbal plans to open 5-6 more exclusive showrooms in India during the next 12 months and it expects the retail arm to contribute more than 5 percent to its earnings.
It was nearly a decade ago that Aura Herbal graduated from being an industrial waste recycling company to a manufacturer and processor of herbal textiles.
“Our understanding of toxic chemicals that run into water bodies and put health of several innocent people at risk, made us determined to make something eco-friendly. This passion led to the birth of Aura Herbals, where we are equipped to naturally dye textiles on a large-scale,” said Arun Baid, Managing Director of Aura Herbal Textile Ltd.
Until now, Aura Herbal worked on B2C model, wherein it supplied herbal textiles to international brands like Esprit and Levi's. The current launch of B2C retail business is in addition to the existing B2C model.
The new Aura Herbal showroom in Ahmedabad will offer herbal dyed items such as shirts, T-shirts, stoles, scarves, bags, fabrics and spa items like shower towels, face towels, hand towels, innerwear and other organic products.
Aura Herbal is expecting its annual turnover to increase to Rs. 150 million by next financial year from the current Rs. 40 million.
Among other activities, Aura Herbal is planning to establish an herbal dyeing institute, where it intends to run short-term courses on organic textiles and herbal dyeing for students and people from the textile industry.
