Harrods to bring UK-inspired Zumba apparel collection

Zumba Fitness has collaborated with iconic British department store Harrods to launch a bespoke UK-inspired range of Zumba apparel that is now available in stores. The collection is positioned on the fifth floor and exclusive to the retailer for two months.

Zumba Fitness is a global dance-fitness phenomenon founded in Miami, Fla. that counts more than 12 million fans across 125 countries worldwide. The international music-inspired fitness-party fuses dance styles--including samba, flamenco, hip-hop, reggaeton and merengue--into an exhilarating workout.

Having grown nearly 800-percent in the last three years alone, Zumba Fitness has evolved into a lifestyle brand encompassing fitness, entertainment, culture, music, video gaming and apparel. With this immense growth and popularity prominent in the UK, Zumba Fitness is celebrating local heritage by launching its first-ever customized Zumba apparel range into Harrods.

"Harrods is synonymous with luxury and fashion, and we are excited to unveil a brand new, effervescent collection of Zumba apparel exclusive to its international audience," said Adele Harrington, vice president of global consumer products at Zumba Fitness. "When choosing to take our apparel line into retail, we focused on aligning with a brand that shares the same brand loyalty as Zumba Fitness, and Harrods is an ideal fit. We are looking forward to launching our first retail collection with such an iconic brand."

This exclusive Zumba apparel collection encompasses more than two dozen unique pieces featuring rich fabrics and stylish silhouettes but still stays true to the bold and vibrant style that is synonymous with the Zumba brand – including signature bright green and neon pink colors.

"We wanted to create a collection that connects with our Zumba community while speaking to the Harrods consumer," said Sigal Cohen, fashion design manager for Zumba apparel and accessories.

“While maintaining the signature look and feel of our Zumba apparel, we applied special treatments and print techniques to the fabrics, including chrome and reptile artwork adorned by iridescent and gunmetal foil. We also incorporated different sized crystals and studs to give dimension to each piece. The result is a fresh take on luxury which is perfectly in tune with the Harrods style."

Key pieces in the exclusive Zumba Fitness/Harrods collection include the "Jazzy Fishtail Mesh Top," which features key holes on the shoulders and high low hem for a flattering and stylish-yet-comfortable look. Gathered fabric detail on the "ruched" leggings creates an effortlessly on-trend look, whilst the "Jazzy Hooded Vest" is perfect for layering due to its lightweight breathable mesh fabric.

Staying true to the Zumba brand, the signature cargo pant features reflective tassels for a modern athletic look. And in keeping with its vivacious style, the Zumba apparel Harrods collection also includes a luxury format with union-jack emblazoned T-shirts, as well as a patent-leather bowling bag sporting the national flag in all its glory.
