Retailer Monsoon fights off sales drought

Monsoon, one of the leading retailers in UK, reported a slight decline in the sales before Christmas.
The tough conditions had passed as the sales began to rise during the festive season.
In the last six weeks, leading upto first week of January, Monsoon has registered more than five percent growth.
Sales in the six months to January increased four percent, including a two percent rise in Britain and the Irish Republic and a ten percent increase in international operations in local currency terms.
Monsoon emphasizes on ethnic wear and also has another chain called Accessorize.
Monsoon has 388 outlets in the UK and the Irish Republic, including 151 Accessorize stores and 141 Monsoon shops.
It has additional 299 stores trading in 35 countries outside the UK and Ireland.
