Good times seems to come back at the leading cashmere and branded bed-linen group Dawson International after overcoming competition from Far East and certain wrong decisions.
Once on the verge of bankruptcy, the Kinross-based group has recovered itself by acquiring the Scottish branded cashmere knitwear business, John Laing of Hawick.
The newly acquired company would be working under the aegis of Dawson's profitable Barrie knitwear business, informed Mike Hartley, Chairman .
Industry experts opine that the company worked hard at paying off the last instalment of its expensive loan stock that was looming large to mar its financial future.
In June last year, Dawson was forced to raise £10 million to stay afloat in business after banks declined extension of group's borrowing facility. That decision all but left Dawson at the door steps of bankruptcy.
